School and Very Soon August 14. 2004

Well, next semester is about to start for McCromick and I'm totally not prepaired. I still have to finish work from last semester. I have four 3-5 page papers that I need to write on "The theological perspecitve of power and it's abuse by society and the church." Then I have to write a final paper for that class that needs to be 12 pages and the topic of the paper needs to be about domestic violence and rape. Sounds like fun topics huh. The reason I have so many papers to do is during the middle of the semester last year the class that these papers were for decided to move its location from Hyde Park to Evenston IL. So, my commute time took up about an hour of class time. One of the professors was totally on my side (the one from Hyde Park) but the other one was a arrogant power monger (funny how he would be teaching a class on the abuse of power). Because of that he is having me write a short paper on the reading for the days I was late. Grrrr.

I still need to get my books for the classes I'm taking this semseter; "The Daughters of Ethiopia", "Introduction to Christian Worship", "History I" I have no clue what these classes are going to be about though I can guess from the titles that they may not be that engaging albeit fun.

On the brighter side of things. I'm really looking forward to teaching the database class this year. It looks like there are a lot of smart people that are not arrogant about their intelligence in the class. This for sure will make for a good group and a great learning semester for all of us.

I'm sure you can guess that bits of my papers will be showing up on the blog as I write them.

Databasing for Jesus? Computers and the homeless? Glorifying God through Linux? Classes that ought to be invented.
