A New Name From an Old Concept August 5. 2004

Well, I broke down and got myself a registered domain name. I hope you like it. The idea for the domain name came from a lecture by Theodore Hiebert when he was inaugurated as the Francis A. McGaw Professor of Old Testament at McCormick Theological Seminary. The lecture entitled Imago Dei or Imago Dirt: Who in the World are We? was really very elequent and a wonderful work of historical criticism. If you have read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn the concept of Imago Dirt is found throughout the book but given the title "leaver."
