SJR7 to Reach the House This Week March 15. 2005

On Tuesday March 7th, the true face of hatred in the Indiana "Christian" representatives. The spectacle was that of the right-wing rulers chanting "God hates gays"... We should be reminded by such hatred that was allowed to grow in places like Nazi Germany, Sudan, and many others. It is our call to action from the words from these terrible acts of hatred and oppression: NEVER AGAIN!

The Senate Joint Resolution 7 has passed the Juditiary Committee and will reach the House as soon as this week. I ask anyone who loves justice and righteousness to please email the House representatives of Indiana and tell them to vote 'No!' to this Resolution of marginalization and oppression. Even if you do not live in Indiana! The individual email interfaces can be found here. I have also created a web interface that will email every single house representative with your same comments here. Please fight this resolution of injustice, unrighteousness, fear and scarcity!

You can find my arguments against this Resolution here, here, here, here and here.

:-/ How good is it to absolutely misrepresent these "right-wing rulers" by suggesting that they believe that God hates gays? Even if they are judgemental enough to believe that the current moral state of gays will bring them God's wrath, isn't the core of the belief system that God loves everyone? I understand, you're just trying to make a point, but quotation marks say a lot.

That is a direct quote! They were chanting it at the statehouse on Tuesday March 7th. I cannot misrepresent a chant.

So I agree with you, God loves everyone but some people really don't think so

Thanks for the link over instant messenger.

"Hundreds of those protesting SJR 7 made their way into the rotunda and began chanting: 'Love not hate!' In response, many of the supporters yelled back 'God hates gays!'"

I hope and pray that the majority of the supporters distanced themselves from these "many of the supporters" who yelled those things back. Nonetheless, the article does make it clear that it was not the general message of the supporters (as a coordinated "chant" would have indicated), nor even a passing thought entertained by the "right-wing rulers", unless any arbitrary individual within the physical group can be conferred that status of ruler.

If they ban gay marriage, maybe they should make some of these admendments as well...
